Check availabilityOn this coast it means a car and a driver-guide for the day, and nobody else in the vehicle. That is the standard unit of Balinese tourism rather than a luxury tier. You agree a shape for the day, he drives it, and he waits while you are inside each stop.
Eight of the trips here are that, sold with the entrance tickets folded into the fare. The cheapest of them starts at $32 a head, which is why comparing a private day against a seat on a bus is not the comparison most people expect.
Three of these listings say plainly that the timing is arranged around what you ask for. That matters more here than almost anywhere. The whole day is built backwards from a six o'clock curtain, and your hotel sits a different distance from it than anybody else's.
The performance ends around seven and empties several hundred people onto one road. A car that is already yours removes the single worst twenty minutes of an independent evening.
Rain at the beach, a longer stop at the statue, an earlier run at the temple: none of that needs anyone else's agreement. On a shared departure it needs all of it.
Most of these cover temple admission and the Kecak seat, which at the gate come to about IDR 210,000 a head. Read each fare, because a couple make them a booking option and one leaves entry out entirely.

You get the vehicle, the driver-guide, petrol, parking and hotel pickup on every one of these. Most add the entrance tickets and the Kecak seat. Several add a meal.
What you do not get is a cultural guide in the museum sense. The person driving is the person explaining, and the reviews here are full of named drivers doing that well. You also do not automatically get dinner: some fares name food among their exclusions even where the day finishes on a beach known for it.
Book two to five days ahead in the June-to-September peak, and 24 to 48 hours ahead the rest of the year. Give the operator your hotel when you book rather than after. The pickup zone is the most common reason a departure that looks right turns out not to serve you, and Ubud carries a stated surcharge on one listing.

If you are already staying on the Bukit, in Jimbaran or in Nusa Dua, you are paying for a road you barely need. The guided gate ticket gives you the same two hours, the same seat and a guide at the entrance for less.
If you are travelling alone, a private fare is quoted per person here rather than per car, so the saving that makes it attractive for four does not appear.
